| President, Director,
Linda Burdick |
Linda Betts Burdick (M.Ed.
Special Education) is currently Enrichment Teacher at Kearsarge
Regional Middle School in New London, NH. She provides direct
instruction to students and also coordinates the Destination
Imagination teams, the Johns Hopkins Youth Talent Search, and
edits the school literary magazine. In her spare time, she
writes teacher curriculum for Newsweek magazine. She also
teaches two continuing education/graduate classes at Keene
State--Methods of Gifted Ed and Bully Prevention. Past
experience: Linda has over 17 years experience teaching gifted
and talented students. She served as Chair of the Session
Committee for the NE Conference for Gifted Talented, 2003. She
participated in a panel "Excellence in G/T Education" at that
conference. Other experiences include: trainer for Educators for
Social Responsibility-NH; President, NH Council for Social
Studies; Editor of the NHCSS journal, Horizons: member, NHEIAP
committee for 5 years; member, NH State Social Studies
Certification Committee; former Director of Education, New
Hampshire Historical Society; Project Director and Evaluator for
NH Humanities Council. |

Barbara DeVore |
Barbara is the Vice
President of NHAGE and a gifted education specialist in the
Merrimack, NH public schools. She has a M.Ed. with a specialty
in Gifted and Talented Education and an additional thirty
graduate level credits. As a Director and Secretary Barbara has initiated
several new services: participation in the
Excellence in Education Awards (EDies); the second is the NHAGE
web page. She is currently the co-chair of the 2003 New England
Conference. Barbara received the Friend of the Gifted Award at
the New England Conference on Gifted and Talented Education in
October 2001. |

The responsibilities of
the secretary of the organization will be shared among the
officers of the board of the New Hampshire Association of Gifted
Education. We believe that acting as a group in concert is in
the best interest of the children and will enhance the
communication of our proceedings as well as our team building as
an organization. |
| Director, Treasurer,
Julie Ramsey |
Julie graduated with a BS
from Bryant College, MED from Notre Dame College, and has been in Derry
for past 18 years as a 5th grade teacher, 4th grade teacher and
have taught the gifted in the GAITES program and now with the
PACE program. In Sunapee she coached the ski team, directed the
school plays, was the class advisor, and helped run an outdoor
enrichment program. In Derry she has been the coach for several
Odyssey of the Mind (Destination Imagination) teams, run extra-curricular sports, and held
after school enrichment classes. She has been active with the
teachers' union as treasurer, vice-president, and president over
the years. |
| EDies Chair,
Maurine Eagan |
Maurine Eagan is an educational
consultant, bringing over 20 years of experience working with
children to her private practice in Bedford, NH. She embraces a
holistic approach and specializes in supporting the emotional,
social, physical, and educational needs of gifted and creative
children. Maurine is a certified practitioner in the Annemarie
Roeper, Ed.D. Method of Qualitative Assessment for Giftedness
and holds B.S. in Speech and Hearing Sciences and M.Ed. from
Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Maurine offers
assessment, educational planning, parenting support, and
educational workshops. She teaches families relaxation methods
including therapeutic touch and imagery. |
| Director,
Brighid Wood |
Brighid Wood graduated cum laude from
Amherst College with a B.A. in Economics. Brighid also
participated in the University of Massachusetts'
Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Licensure program. She is currently
volunteering at a cooperative elementary and middle school while
home schooling her children. In the past she has taught in
a variety of settings including preschool, elementary, and
middle school. Most recently, she taught an accelerated math
class in a mixed age setting. Brighid's interest in gifted
education stems from her fascination with the learning process,
both as a teacher and as a parent. In other work, she is also
the Vice President of a small Internet service provider. |
